The Good of a Mediator; Author A. Simon
The book of second Samuel chapter fourteen verse fourteen, speaks on restoration. Before this verse there was an issue ahead starting from chapter thirteen were Absalom, because of the sin of Absalom the king gave an order to banish Absalom from the town because the king were upset about what Absalom did.
In chapter fourteen Joab son of Zeruiah knows that the mind of king David was on Absalom. King David was thinking about Absalom because he was his first Son now. David mind is at peace with Absalom but already banished him away. Joab took that opportunity to look for a way to restore Absalom back. So Joab sent a wise woman to King David told her what to do and say, and the woman did as she was been instructed by Joab 14:3-13.
After, the king was pleased, he agreed to restore Absalom back and not just that, to also come and stay with him in the palace.
Who is the king? God, who is Absalom who sinned? Human being, who is the wise woman and Joab? Jesus Christ.
Tight from the Garden of Eden human being had sin against God and was banished, so Jesus Christ choose to die for the sins of mankind. And restore us to God. “but when this high priest had offered for all time one sacrifices for sin, he sat down at right hand of God” Hebrew 10:12 NIV.
Christ die for the whole world sins and sat at the right hand of God reconciling all back to God. God created a place in heaven for us, which is already been prepared down for us all, “In my father house………….. I go to prepare a place for you”, John 14:2.
To Absalom, Amnon caused him to sin, but the reward of his sin was banished. To Adam the first man created Eve gave him the forbidden fruit; Devil deceived them. The scripture stated “From Adam came death and from Jesus came life” (2 corinthians 15:21) The reward of Adam sin was not just banished but also death “Genesis 3” not only to Adam but to all mankind.
Since Joab and the wise woman had speak to the king and the king had agreed to restore Absalom back to him it left for Absalom to go back to the king or choose not to do it again.
Since Christ Jesus had die for the sins of mankind God had chosen to restore human being back to Himself, so it is left for mankind to accept the salvation, “Fact salvation comes by faith in Jesus”.
I conclude this message with this scripture “2 corinthians 15:18-21” .
